Objectives

-Implementation of ICT tools and new methodologies to increase motivation and reduce absenteeism: Our school is one of the few schools in Seville to create a subject about robotics and coding; we seek to learn how to work with these same tools without forgetting that ICT is also an element that facilitates programming and organization for the teacher. -Learning new dynamics aimed at reducing conflict, promoting positive and democratic coexistence and fostering co-educational attitudes: Due to our circumstances, we find very stereotyped behavior, violent reactions, lack of self-control and empathy, use of inappropriate language, lack of study habits, lack of expectations for the future which results in a lack of motivation to study in our students. -Elimination of inequality of opportunities for our students at risk of exclusion, actions and methodologies that promote and encourage the inclusion of both foreign students and those with special needs: We want to reduce the already existing inequalities, enhancing the positive aspects that this diversity entails.

Background

Our school has 3 educational stages: Primary Education, Kindergarten and Special Education. We are a compensatory school, with 300 students between the ages of 3 and 12. We are located in a largely diverse area of Seville experiencing economic transformation, known as the Polígono Norte district: more than 10 nationalities, a high percentage of immigrant and gypsy families, whose economic status is lower than middle class, our school is also attended by individuals from the shelter community known as "el Vacie". With 5% of the students chronically absent, it is challenging for us to obtain positive results due to lack of motivation, family involvement, and knowledge of the language, as well as low educational family backgrounds... We have a high ratio of students with Special Educational Needs (20%) and we design activities that develop learning with a practical and motivating approach. Our students' lack of opportunities is mainly due to the circumstances they face, such as the lack of expectations and resources, or low educational levels in the family. In environments where violence, machismo and xenophobia are normalized, we work to make general emotional empathy and respect for differences as fundamental pillars for our school
