Objectives

On the one hand, due to the high ratio in the classrooms, we need to improve the efficiency with which we work, not only with the students with special needs, but also with the group class in general. We would like to know new methodologies and action tools to be able to implement inclusive practices, capable of developing all the abilities and talents of our students. On the other hand, we want to be able to provide the students with the tools to be able to face different adversities that they will experience in their future. This required us to improve and learn new support strategies and methodologies. Finally, since we are a multilingual school and since there are certain language requirements at the level of the Autonomous Community and the State, we believe that improving the English language skills of our teachers will improve the quality of the education we offer and, consequently, the language skills of our students. For these 3 reasons, and because we are participating in the program for the first time, we have set ourselves 3 main objectives: to carry out training courses in the areas of Attention to Diversity, Educational and Emotional Management and English Language Competence.

The educational offer ranges from Preschool to High School, distributing our 1443 students and 86 teachers in the following learning programmes: Preschool Education: 3-5 years old Primary School Education: 6-12 years old Compulsory Secondary Education: 12-16 years old Learning and Performance Improvement Program (PMAR) Reinforcement Program for 4 ESO (PR4) oriented to subsequent Vocational Training. High School: 16-18 years old. Here there is the possibility to obtain the American High School Dual Diploma. Regarding the student profile, 4.5% of the 226 pupils in Early Childhood Education present some Special Need (SN). In Primary Education, 13.2% of the 486 pupils have SN. In Compulsory Secondary Education, 15% of the 481 pupils have some SN and in High School the percentage is 4.4%. The project is carried out within this school context, involving the whole teaching staff and, therefore, all the pupils. It should be noted that this is our first experience within the Erasmus+ programme.
