Objectives

- Improvement of knowledge in active methodologies using digital technologies. - Enhancement of English language skills to increase the internationalization of the team and strengthen the European dimension. - Understanding the digital transformation process of educational centers in other European countries to establish best practices and protocols in the educational centers of our autonomous community. - Improvement of the competence to create resources in open and digital formats. - Due to the structural changes already mentioned previously, a new objective has emerged aligned with the current and preferred functions of our organization: training our staff (advisors and trainers in digital competency and STEAM for all teachers in the Balearics) in emerging technologies and ecosystems and those with immediate future impact on education to translate it into teacher training sessions.

Background

The IBSTEAM Teacher Training Center is a public benchmark in teacher training for digital competencies and innovative STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Mathematics). From the beginning, IBSTEAM has advised and trained the 488 educational centers in the Balearic Islands on digital plans and digital ecosystems. However, over the past year, some structural changes have led IBSTEAM to focus and specialize in training all teachers in the Balearics (18,000 teachers) in digital competencies and STEAM. Their programs are based on the European Framework for Digital Competence of Educators. Since its inception, IBSTEAM has been committed to internationalization to improve the quality of its actions, enrich training programs, increase knowledge, and strengthen international relations. At the regional level, internationalization enhances digital and STEAM competencies among teachers and students, provides mentoring to interested centers, and strengthens relationships with regional entities. Nationally, it promotes collaboration between similar institutions, while at the European/international level, it contributes to the European education space and supports the development of professional networks throughout Europe.
