In presenting the project, we aimed to advance our goal of being a benchmark center for innovation in the environment. On one hand, we saw the need to establish methodologies that required the use of English in meaningful learning situations, as well as to seek allies for the launch of joint projects with other centers in order to internationalize our institution. Similarly, we aimed to improve the digital competence of our students by integrating the use of electronic devices into the classroom dynamic. For this, we need an efficient methodology that requires students to use these devices to address real-life challenges and issues, rather than simply replacing textbooks. Given the reflection mentioned above, the following objectives were established for our project: - Acquire new experiences in teaching practices that involve methodological innovation and innovation in the use of new technologies. - Establish partnerships with other European-level centers for the implementation of collaborative projects. - Improve teaching strategies in the English teaching-learning process.
BASAURI IKASTETXEA SCHOOL is an institution affiliated with the Basque Government's Department of Education, offering all levels of non-university formal education, from the 2-year-old classroom to the 2nd year of Baccalaureate. In addition to its educational services, it is a center committed to its social environment and, as stated in our Mission, Vision, and Values, we also "seek to be an innovative and benchmark educational center in our environment", making innovation a fundamental pillar of our strategy. Therefore, the motivation for this project has been to train our teaching staff in innovative methodologies that can later be shared and thereby enrich the teaching-learning process for our students, especially regarding the use of ICT and language teaching, as ours is a trilingual center. Furthermore, efforts have been made to establish alliances with other institutions and external agents to undertake larger-scale projects at the school level, involving students and contributing to their internationalization. For all this, we have chosen two training courses and a Job Shadowing activity.
