We had several objectives: -Provide teachers with courses that enable them to pass the official exams to get the needed certification to teach within the BRIT program.In order to secure the continuity of the Bilingual program we need that the teachers obtain a C1 level. -Provde teachers in the BRIT program with courses that will familiarize them with new techniques in the teaching and learning of English as a second language - Help CLIL teachers to develop their confidence , ability and skills to teach their subject in English - Promote identity, citinzenship and european values with emphasis on the awareness of the European English speaking countries of the Union. - Establish contacts wit teachers from other countries to facilitate future relations, mobilities and exchanges. - Promote inclusive criteria in the selection of substitute teachers ( interinos) as well as teachers from other departments to attrack motivated and qualified proffesionals
Our organization is a Secondary Education high school but we also have a wide variety of Vocational training being those of Personal Image and Hairdressing specially prestigious and well-known in the area. Most of our students come from inmigrant origin during the ESO ( Compulsoty education) but level with Spanish origin students when they reach Bachillerato. The school is situated in a working area. Most of the students speak Spanish as they have been generally born in Spain but we still have some students who have recently arrived to Spain and who do not understand or speak Spanish. We have nowdays no especial arrangements for them This project is born form the need in training for the bilingual school teachers in the bilingual program of our school. This program has been a challenge for our center especially in the departments directly involved in their development and implementation: the department of English and the departments of the subjects taught in English. We have made a big effort in preparing materials , complementary activities , preparation for official exams, etc. Nevertheless, more training, resources and time is needed . This project tried to minimize these needs in order to attrack motivated proffesionals.
