Objectives

We highlight the following achievements: a. Increasing the linguistic competence in English of both staff and students, providing them with real contexts in which they can practice their skills in this language and appreciate its utility as an effective means of communication. b. Supporting and enhancing teachers' understanding, expanding their knowledge of CLIL for its consolidation in the school, and implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in our curriculum. c. Learning about and experiencing successful inclusive CLIL practices that have been implemented in other countries, with the aim of improving our School Pedagogical Framework and our Inclusion Policy. d. Enhancing our ability and confidence in the use of ICT, with an emphasis on utilising eco-friendly platforms and other applications. e. Involving Early Childhood Education in the Erasmus+ movement through classroom activities and mobility for their teachers.

Background

In September 2012, our educational institution joined the bilingual and CLIL ("Content and Language Integrated Learning") program promoted by the educational authorities of the Region of Murcia. Since then, we have extensively implemented CLIL in teaching various curriculum areas such as science, art, and crafts in primary education. With the aim of expanding our program, we have decided to incorporate other subjects through CLIL that can complement science, such as physical education. Currently, the CLIL program at our school encompasses 100% of primary students (ages 6 to 12); however, we are committed to introducing it in early childhood education as well. Additionally, we believe it is necessary to consolidate CLIL in primary education, with special attention to classes with students of diverse abilities and learning styles, to offer a more inclusive and higher quality school-wide program. Furthermore, we provide an advanced information and communication technology (ICT) program, which we are approaching from new perspectives thanks to the mobility offered by the EU.
