1. Improving the motivation and performance of students to become protagonists of their learning actively participate in the European knowledge heritage to improve performance and overcome initial competence levels. 2. Promote the empowerment of our students through participation in meaningful learning experiences that encourage them to learn and undertake, and promote their active participation in building a more just and sustainable society, based on collaboration in projects that seek to transform global society from the local. 2. Improving communication skills in English through participation in collaborative work with European cultural awareness centers on European cultural diversity to help them eradicate discriminatory behavior. 3. To improve teachers' methodological competence in using innovative, creative, and collaborative methodologies and their language competence in foreign languages. 4. Strengthen the European dimension of our school by creating a sustainable cross-border network of cooperators to exchange good educational practices.
The URA project of the IES Juan A. Zunzunegui BHI of Portugalete (Basque Country) fits with the objectives and priorities of our school where we teach Compulsory Secondary Education, Curriculum Diversification and Baccalaureate. We have about 500 students from families with a low socioeconomic level and 75 teachers. Among our main objectives we highlight the improvement of the motivation of the students, the reinforcement of the scientific-technological vocation and the digital competence, in addition to the increase of the proficiency level of the linguistic communication in foreign language, and improving the competence of teachers both in foreign languages and in new methodologies. These goals are the foundation of our URA project, of the KA122 action, which has promoted its besides strengthening the European dimension of our institution and our commitment to an innovative educational practice that guarantees equal opportunities and respect for diversity. Finally, this project has promoted the incorporation of responsible and sustainable environmental practices with the content of educational activities carried out on the coast and river ecosystems.
