Background

The Belarmino Fernández Iglesias Foundation is located in a rural setting in the heart of the Ribeira Sacra. This area is becoming an important tourist destination in Galicia, with the hotel and catering industry being one of the main pillars. Hence the importance of our students of the Intermediate Level Training Courses of Cooking and Gastronomy and Catering Services, and the AFD (being the only centre in Galicia that offers Erasmus+ scholarships to these students) that leads them to obtain the certificates of professionalism of level 1 in Basic Operations in Cookery and Basic Operations in Restaurant and Bar Services and level 2 in Cookery to complete their training in companies in Europe, which will allow them to improve their linguistic, professional, personal and ICT skills and will bring them closer to the reality of other European countries. In addition, we believe that the continuous training of our teachers is essential to offer a higher quality education and mobility for job shadowing allows them to acquire new knowledge in the use of techniques and trends in the sector in other countries, their initiatives in terms of environmental sustainability and the use of ICTs.
