Objectives

The four main objectives of our project focused on inclusion, digitalization, commitment to the environment, and learning in real work environments. Inclusion: Promote the social and educational inclusion of our students, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate in international experiences. Digitalization: Enhance our students' digital competence through the use of advanced technological tools applied to the fashion sector during their internships. This includes the use of design software, digital production, and online marketing, allowing them to acquire essential skills for today's job market, where digitalization is a crucial factor for innovation and competitiveness. Commitment to the Environment: Integrate sustainable and environmentally responsible practices into our students' training activities, including the use of eco-friendly materials, sustainable production techniques, and the implementation of recycling and waste reduction processes in the fashion industry. Learning in Real Work Environments: Learn from outstanding professionals, discover international trends, and establish networking connections.

Background

The IES Tías is an educational institution located in Tías, a town on the island of Lanzarote, which is part of the Canary Islands. Our location in a European outermost region presents unique challenges, especially in terms of visibility and recognition outside of Spain. The geographical distance and relative isolation of the Canary Islands mean that our educational efforts are not always known or appreciated in the rest of Europe. Our institution is known for its commitment to quality education, particularly in the area of Fashion and Design. However, one of the most significant challenges we face is providing our students with opportunities to broaden their professional and cultural horizons beyond our borders. The context of our project focuses on addressing this need. We want our Fashion and Design students to be able to complete their internships (FCT) in European cities where fashion holds historical and contemporary relevance. This project will not only allow them to gain professional experience in dynamic and competitive environments, but it will also offer them the opportunity to enrich their cultural and professional perspectives.
