Our first objective was the internationalization of our Conservatory. We needed to open the doors of our center to go outside, know, learn from other realities and take advantage of the opportunities of internationalization to improve the quality of our teaching and our Conservatory. The second objective was the need to improve the employability of our students when they finish our studies, since they face a high unemployment rate. Furthermore, there are limited access positions for professional graduates and their working conditions are not ideal. Therefore, one of the most important needs that our center faced and continues to face is to be able to offer a professional future to our students, and through the door that the Erasmus+ program opens to our students, they will be allowed to develop socially, emotionally, musically and professionally. Another objective was the digital transformation of our center and our way of teaching in the digital age. This posed a great challenge, since the entire educational community would have to become familiar with this new way of understanding and transmitting musical education.
The Conservatorio Profesional of Músic nº2 of Valencia is a public center for Music Education. It has 139 teachers and 1074 students. It includes Elementary and Professional Teachings. The ages of the students range between 8 and 18 years old and they have a high capacity for work: they combine their general studies with those of the conservatory, which means a large number of teaching hours and studying at home. The sociocultural level of the families is high and they are very involved in the studies and comprehensive development of their sons and daughters. Our center carried out an Erasmus+ project for the first time in 2022 despite having extensive experience in external activities at an international level, having participated in the VI International Youth Festival in College (Poland, 2016); Chamber and Orchestral Music Master Classes in Prizren (Kosovo, 2018); III Festival della musica giovane del Mediterraneo Forlì (Italy, 2018); training stage Associazione locale obiezione e non violenza - Gruppo azione nonviolenza (Italy, 2019); exchange with students specializing in Percussion in Narbonne and Perpignan (France, 2020) that was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
