The objectives that we intended to achieve with the implementation of the project were: Imbue the European dimension in the culture of the centre: open the doors of IES Villaverde to Europe, both to students and teachers to benefit from the great advantages that Erasmus projects offer. Improve the personal and social skills and abilities of our students: performing internships in a company in an EU country forces students to adapt to a new culture, ways of working, social customs, etc., which has an impact on personal and social development that makes them grow as individuals and helps them discover or improve skills necessary for their personal and working life. Improve the teaching practice of teachers: the mobility of teachers allows them to learn about other ways of working in terms of methodologies, tools and techniques, which can be implemented in our centre to improve the quality of the teaching we offer. They also favour the establishment of new contacts that facilitate student mobility. - Promote equal opportunities from an inclusive perspective: offering scholarships to the entire educational community.
Our centre is located in the south of Madrid. The socio-economic and cultural level of our students is medium-low. There is a considerable percentage of students who belong to disadvantaged groups, mainly in the basic grade groups. Erasmus projects give added value to the centre by providing the opportunity for our students to carry out their training period in workplaces in a European Union country with all the benefits that this entails for them. Not only do they improve their professional skills by being able to work in a work team with a different culture, but they also improve the personal skills that are so necessary today in any field such as conflict resolution, emotion management, self-awareness, resilience, etc. In addition, they improve their linguistic competence, thus improving their CV and increasing their chances of entering the world of work.
