Objectives

The main challenge for our students is job placement after their studies. Youth unemployment in Spain is very high and many of our students have difficulties finding a job when they finish their studies. The more opportunities and experiences they have, the easier it will be for them to get employed. In this sense, being able to participate in an Erasmus+ mobility is a differentiating factor that helps them in their job search. This is why the main objective of this project was to "Increase the job opportunities of VET EQF4 students after Erasmus+", because we are convinced that the more professional experiences they have, the greater the job placement of our students will be. And if these professional experiences are abroad, they are even more valuable.

Background

This project is in the field of Vocational Education and Training and it has been the second KA122 project awarded and managed in our organization, Institut Jaume Mimó. It has been deployed and implemented in a moment of growth and development of our internationalization strategy. In the context of this project, we have worked with students aged 18-20 years old in the second year of their EQF4 studies, namely in the degree of Commercial Activities and the degree of Welding and Boilermaking. In terms of organization background, Institut Jaume Mimó is a public educational center located in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona) where Secondary Education, Upper-secondary education and Vocational Training (levels EQF3, EQF4 and EQF5) are offered. In terms of VET, we have degrees in the fields of Commerce and marketing, Mechanical manufacturing, Administration and management and Graphic and audiovisual communication. Our mission is the search for educational excellence and the development of our students. Our vision is to accompany the process of comprehensive training of young people, a process that consists of learning how to know, to do and to be.
