Objectives

Among the action objectives that were expected to be achieved, it was intended to associate with a foreign centre to establish relations. The project was also meant to promote equality and diversity, raise awareness of the European reality, encourage the use of European languages, promote the rationalization of resources and work as a team with other EU centres. We consider that the project objectives have been met, since it is the first time t a KA122 project has been granted at our school. We believe that we have given the chance to students with few opportunities since the economic level of the families is low and many of them have scholarships to get through the school year. Likewise, we believe that all participants have acquired a greater knowledge of the European reality by being immersed in the culture and wealth of the country in which the mobility has taken place, in addition to its gastronomy. Mobilities have taken place in the relevant language (Portuguese or Italian) and everyone has somehow acquired something of the language along with what this implies. Finally, a network of contacts has been created because we have worked as a team with different schools and companies (restaurants in this case).

Background

Our project 'Towards a Sustainable Hospitality' is part of a high school and VET school in the north of Extremadura, which teaches Vocational Training in Cooking and Hospitality at a basic, medium and high level, and whose target learner students have a vast majority of a medium-low economic level. It is the first time that we have been awarded a KA122-VET project, so we had the difficulty of developing this project without experience.
