Objectives

Since 2007, Nicolau Copèrnic Institute has been committed to fostering student mobility through internships in European companies. With this project, we aimed to provide students with the opportunity to complete part of their studies abroad, specifically the Training in Work Centers (FCT) module. By participating in these international internships, our main goal was for students to enhance both their technical and soft skills, while adapting to professional environments in foreign countries. We also aimed to provide them with the opportunity to improve their foreign language proficiency, particularly in English, as this is the most commonly used language in these contexts. More than just professional development, we sought to foster personal growth. Living and working in a foreign country pushes students outside of their comfort zone, requiring them to navigate everyday challenges such as cooking, shopping, and communicating with people from different cultures. This holistic experience not only strengthens their professional competence but also builds their confidence and independence.
