For years our school INS Escuela de Hoteleria i Turisme de Barcelona has been developing the ERASMUS project for students of Vocational Training (FP) of Higher Level Training Cycles of the families of Hospitality and Tourism. Our goal is to become a leading, innovative, and prestigious Vocational Training Center, , with an optimal connection between the school and industry, and creating international collaboration networks between VET centers, companies, and other actors in the educational and labor field, which can generate future opportunities for mobility and cooperation in the long term. Through internationalization we aim to improve the employability of our students, by giving VET students the opportunity to do internships in foreign companies, it is expected that they will develop practical and technical skills applicable in an international work environment, improving their employability both in their home country and abroad. In addition, the ERASMUS project allows students to acquire specific competencies of the sector in which they are trained, and learn in multicultural contexts, which would allow them to be more competitive in the labor market. Also, immersion in another country allows students to improve their language skills, both in the language of the host country and in the use of English. During the 2022-23 academic year we expanded with new partners in Ireland, a priority target since Brexit. We also had a new partner in Norway occupying all the 15 places granted and 3 students doing their internships with a zero scholarship. In relation to the K131 scholarships for Staff mobility for training, the objective is to allow the teaching staff to learn experiences and good practices of the destination center, as well as the transfer of knowledge or skills and acquire practical skills in these companies and in the observation of the learning system in a VET institute of a partner country with the aim of acquiring new knowledge and skills of teachers essential for quality education. Through the international experience, both the students and the schools involved can discover new methodologies, technologies, and teaching approaches, which can then be transferred and applied in their own educational contexts. The Erasmus project based on internships abroad in VET seeks not only to improve students' job opportunities and technical skills, but also to provide them with a transformative experience in cultural and personal terms, preparing them for a world of work in a more global environment.
