Objectives

The INS Joaquim Mir in Vilanova i la Geltrú is a public educational centre owned by the Generalitat of Catalonia. It is a city close to Barcelona, well connected. Our centre offers the following courses: ESO, Bachillerato, Intermediate and Higher Vocational Training. Our institute has been facing various needs of its students for years, such as youth unemployment, school absenteeism, dropping out of school and lack of motivation. To solve these needs, ensure that students acquire a better preparation for the labour market, motivate them with new challenges and create more innovative teaching, we are following a plan for the internationalisation of the centre where this project is framed. As well as raising awareness among students about the importance of the environment. Our objectives are to support inclusion and diversity, develop professional and personal skills, including self-esteem, autonomy and maturity. Another of our objectives is to improve their linguistic and communication skills. To achieve this, an excellent way is to provide study and work experiences abroad, thus improving their employability. This directly influences the increase in their motivation for training and thus reduce failure and school dropout. Improving the attitude of participants towards interculturality and developing European awareness is one of our main objectives in participating in and managing this European project.
