Objectives

The main objective of this mobility project has been to provide the students and staff of l'Escola del Treball de Lleida with a unique opportunity for both personal and professional growth. Studying or doing internships abroad offers a range of benefits beyond the technical or academic skills that can be acquired in the classroom. Mobility allows participants to experience firsthand what it means to adapt to an environment completely different from what they are used to, a crucial skill in an increasingly globalized world. One of the main challenges students face is the change of country, which involves adapting to a new culture, customs, and language. This cultural immersion is one of the most valuable aspects of mobility, as students not only broaden their academic or technical knowledge, but also develop a set of intercultural skills that are increasingly in demand in today’s job market. Mobility is not limited to a change of country. Students also experience a shift in the educational and professional context. They must adapt to different teaching systems or work practices that, in many cases, differ significantly from those they know in their home country. This not only provides them with a broader perspective of their field of study or future profession, but also fosters flexibility, problem-solving skills, and critical thinking. In the case of internship mobility, the benefits are even more evident. Adapting to an international work environment means becoming familiar with new dynamics, hierarchies, and ways of doing things, allowing them to develop a more open and flexible mindset. These experiences not only expand their professional horizon but also enhance their ability to adapt to changes, something essential in a constantly evolving job market. Students learn to value different ways of thinking and to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment, fostering an inclusive and global mindset. One of the fundamental pillars of this mobility project is the commitment to equal opportunities for all students of l'Escola del Treball de Lleida, as established by our Erasmus Charter (ECHE). This project has been conceived with the firm purpose of offering all students, regardless of their background, socioeconomic status, or abilities, the opportunity to benefit from an international experience of this kind. This is why special emphasis has been placed on providing additional support to students with fewer opportunities, ensuring that everyone can exercise their right to participate in a mobility program. We firmly believe that participation in a mobility project is a right accessible to all members of our institution. In addition to the specific benefits related to the academic and professional environment, it is also important to highlight the expected personal outcomes. International mobility is a transformative experience in many ways. Students not only face new academic and professional challenges, but they are also forced to step out of their comfort zone, rely on themselves in an unfamiliar environment, and make decisions that will impact their personal development. This process of self-discovery and personal growth is an entirely enriching experience. The development of autonomy, self-confidence, resilience, and adaptability are some of the most notable outcomes of participating in a mobility program. Furthermore, it is important to emphasize that international experiences help strengthen the sense of belonging to a broader community: the European community. Through Erasmus Plus mobility, students not only represent their institution and home country but also become ambassadors of European values of respect, diversity, and inclusion. In summary, the execution of this mobility project aimed to provide the students of l'Escola del Treball de Lleida with a unique opportunity for comprehensive learning, both academically and personally. International mobility not only enriches technical and professional training but also allows the development of key competencies for their future, such as adaptability, resilience, and working in multicultural environments. Additionally, this project has been designed with a firm commitment to equal opportunities, ensuring that all students, regardless of their situation, can benefit from this transformative experience.
