IES Mar de Alborán is a Secondary Education and Vocational Training center located in Estepona, Málaga; a town on the Western Costa del Sol with almost 70,000 inhabitants, mainly dedicated to the tourism, fishing and commerce sectors. Our center is very dynamic and offers a wide range of education from ESO to Post-compulsory. In VET we offer training cycles in 3 families: electronics, administration and management and computer science; in the last two, our HVET courses are integrated: Web Applications Development and Administration and Finance, with a growing enrollment, which in the case of the latter is divided into morning and afternoon shifts. The main reason for participating in Erasmus+ is to add value to the competences of our students and teachers in foreign languages and in their social, cultural and professional skills. We want to increase the quality of our education while promoting internationalisation and multilingualism. The OBJECTIVES of our participation in the Erasmus Programme, set out in our ECHE, are: 1- To improve the quality of our professional higher education courses, raising attainment levels, professional profiles and employability. 2- To provide more enriching educational experiences for our students in higher education courses. 3- To enhance the relevance of our Higher Education courses in the local and European labour market. 4- To improve the professional, social and intercultural competences of our students and teaching staff. 5- To increase the professional competences and career projections of our Higher Vocational Training students and staff. 6- To enrich the personal and professional competence of our staff and students in a different country and socio-cultural context. 7- To inform the local and school community about the possibilities of our Higher VET qualifications in order to promote these studies and reduce drop-out rates. IES Mar de Alborán has participated in the Erasmus+ Programme since its inception, having obtained its Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) in the 2014 call for applications. Since then we have applied for Erasmus+ funding in FPES, having been growing for some years in number and type of mobilities with very satisfactory results, although since 2020, for various reasons, the number of mobilities carried out in our Higher Education Training Cycles has decreased. However, this programme has been the door to the participation in Erasmus+ of all other educational levels, we are currently accredited also in School and VET and we are immersed in 6 different Erasmus+ projects, having participated since the achievement of the ECHE in 4 different types of programme in KA1 and three different programmes in KA2. So far, our experience in Erasmus+ has been very positive; it has brought about a change of attitude towards collaboration with Europe. The Erasmus spirit spreads with interest in sharing experiences with other people, institutions and cultures; moreover, this strategic line of action is a clear objective in our Educational Project. To ensure that all international work is systematised, coordinated and disseminated throughout the school, a coordinator has been appointed, who holds regular follow-up meetings with the school's Internationalisation Committee. All experiences are analysed, and the results are reflected in the Evaluation and Improvement Plan. However, the changes that the business network of the Costa del Sol is undergoing and the increased employability in the sectors of our Higher Education Vocational Training, together with the rising living standards in Ireland, our main host country, are making us rethink and expand the countries and companies with which we collaborate. We are also looking for complementary forms of funding to encourage student participation. As a whole, the contents of our original Charter prevail, although with the new proposal we intend to reflect the systematisation of procedures and documents that we have been working on little by little during the growth and consolidation of Erasmus+ in our institution and the commitment to modernisation and compliance with the new Principles and priorities established in the Modernisation and Internationalisation Agenda.
