Objectives

Since the start of the Erasmus+ KA107 programme in 2016, the USC has successfully developed the five projects it has benefited from between 2016 and 2020, establishing itself as one of the leading universities in this programme in Spain. In 2016, cooperation began within the framework of KA107 with 11 countries, focusing on Asia, the Maghreb and the Middle East. In 2020, cooperation was extended to 29 countries, and in 2022 a strategy was designed to strengthen cooperation in five of the regions with which it had been cooperating most closely in previous years: Western Balkans (R1), Eastern Neighbourhood (R2), Southern Mediterranean Countries (R3), Russian Federation (R4) and Sub-Saharan Africa (R9). In February 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine and, following instructions from Sepie, an amendment was requested to be able to transfer the budget from Russia to Ukraine. Thus, there would ultimately be four regions in which to implement the project, in a total of 21 countries. The aim was to strengthen cooperation with partner institutions in the four regions mentioned above and to reinforce teh procedures in order to continue a stable collaboration over time within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 Programme.
