Objectives

By implementing this project, the Miguel Hernández University of Elche aimed to strengthen the internationalization of both the university itself and its partner institutions in Sub-Saharan Africa (Rwanda and Uganda) and Latin America (Mexico/Costa Rica). The objective was to promote international mobility for students and staff, in line with the UMH Strategic Plan to position itself as a global reference in teaching, research, and knowledge transfer. In Rwanda, the focus was placed on educational cooperation to advance research, teaching, and employability. In Uganda, the project sought to provide training to women in cooperatives on agricultural techniques to support food security and rural empowerment, while also offering UMH students a comprehensive education based on ethical principles of development cooperation. In Latin America, the project aimed to strengthen collaboration across different areas of knowledge, offering international experience, improving graduate employability, and contributing to regional development. In short, the overarching goal was to consolidate internationalization by fostering partnerships with participating institutions, with the Erasmus+ programme serving as a fundamental pillar in achieving this
