The University of Barcelona (UB) has participated in the Erasmus programme since the beginning, and therefore has extensive experience in managing student and staff mobility. UB began its participation in the Erasmus+ KA107 in 2015 with two countries: Ukraine and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Based on the experience gained, it was decided to expand participation to a greater number of partner countries during 2016–2019. These projects allowed us to lay the foundation for our joint participation in the Erasmus+ programme, develop a strategy in collaboration with our partner universities, and incorporate new thematic areas. The approval of the application submitted in this call made it possible to further strengthen the relationships established with the University of Sarajevo (UNSA), a priority partner in the region thanks to previous projects. In this regard, it is worth noting that the proposal focused on the fields of Economics and International Studies, with the aim of reinforcing collaboration in the Balkans region, considering its potential future accession to the European Union. Additionally, this project aimed to address Sustainable Development Goal 17: Revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.
