Our whole aim through R-Value was to promote the value of Sustainability, mainly Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, through student-led practical approaches. We developed a methodology that was successful enough for students of young age wanted to get involved and lead the activities themselves. This and with the series of activities created a multinational community of people who want to promote environmental change. Most importantly, through RValuE we have managed to promote the inclusion of environmental sustainability topics into the school curricula and bridge the gap between acquired knowledge and the behaviors and actions of youngsters in schools.
We wanted to address the importance of understanding basic concepts of Sustainability and Circular Economy in the school communities. The ideas of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle are only the first step towards raisin awareness in the young generations as the present the future of our environment. This challenge has proven super innovative as children might understand the idea of it, but through the project have become pioneers in their communities themselves.
