The implementation of the LMI04.Dis_ABLED project aimed to enhance the active inclusion of people with disabilities in the labor market by eliminating barriers related to access to relevant labor market information and providing tailored career guidance services. The project’s ultimate goal was to improve the quality of life and self-esteem of people with disabilities by expanding their employment opportunities and fostering their contribution to society, thereby helping to reduce unemployment rates and social exclusion.
The LMI04.Dis_ABLED project was initiated to address inequalities in labor market access for people with disabilities, in alignment with the European Pillar of Social Rights and the European Strategy for the Rights of People with Disabilities 2021-2023. Responding to the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution—digitalization, automation, and the green transition, the project has developed accessible labor market tools, training resources, and personalized career support to enable full participation of people with disabilities in emerging job markets. It tackled key barriers such as limited access to labor market information, physical and sensory challenges, discriminatory attitudes, and digital exclusion. By improving access to flexible jobs (teleworking, platform economy) and leveraging assistive technologies, the project adapted work environments to the needs of people with disabilities. It also provided up-to-date, specific, and accessible labor information, turning technological advances into opportunities to reduce inequalities and promote inclusion.
