Objectives

The primary objective was to enhance the digitalization of vocational training, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of learning, particularly in light of the challenges presented by the pandemic. We sought to improve digital competencies, which are crucial for successful integration into the labor market. By focusing on technology, soft skills, and administrative organization, we aimed to provide tangible solutions to these challenges. Our specific objectives included sharing experiences from European countries to support stakeholders in VET and provide guidance on digitalization. Additionally, we focused on addressing technical gaps in digital learning formats and soft skills development to enrich existing tools and technologies. We also aimed to develop solutions to the administrative hurdles that emerged with the shift to digital learning and create an open-source platform for the exchange of knowledge and resources, ensuring the long-term sustainability and expansion of the project. The project aimed to ensure vocational training could continue to meet the evolving demands of both learners and employers. Through these combined efforts, the project hoped to make a lasting impact on VET across Europe.

Background

Our motivation to undertake this project arises from various factors, including personal experiences and the global challenges. This project was largely influenced by the pandemic, during which all partners experienced significant constraints in vocational training and other business activities. It became evident to all partners that there would be a need to enhance the use of digital resources in the training system moving forward. The experiences during the pandemic prompted us to evaluate whether professionals in the education sector are adequately prepared for this challenge. Along with issues related to the climate crisis, we have concluded that the digitalization of VET is a necessary response to the actual demands. The preparedness of teachers, training centers, and students in digital skills and the commitment to sustainable ecological practices, are essential elements driving the implementation of this project. Through our project, we aim to make a significant contribution to the goals of the European Education Area and the Digital Education Action Plan 2021-2027. We seek to minimize skills gaps and foster innovation in digitalization, as well as support sustainable economies, green practices, and innovative growth.
