Attracting young VET learners is critical and for that it is needed to contribute to modernise the training using new digital technologies (immersive learning, multilingual database platform, collaborative portals) to preserve this intangible heritage. Also, there are professionals from related sectors (carpentry, furniture…) who could be transferred to this industry in a simple way. Furthermore, it is needed to provide to the learners, universal access to information, removing geographical and financial barriers and also facilitate the acquisition of specific lexicon to improve the mutual understanding and movement of professionals or learners to different parts of Europe according to the necessities of the sector. Also, it is important to improve the networks and contact between current shipwrights and learners around Europe.
