Objectives

The comforts created by the technological developments achieved since the last century have also brought consumption to the highest level. One of the biggest problems this causes is that there are people in certain parts of the world who are severely under-resourced. In addition, this waste and irresponsible/unconscious consumption also increase exaggeratedly. This irresponsibility leads people to waste resources in most cases. The most effective way to eliminate the problem of waste and waste is to accustom ourselves, our environment, to the idea of saving and maintaining this saving for as long as possible. It can be said that waste is no longer a problem of a single region, it is a general, global problem of the whole world, a problem that must be prevented. The main resources wasted are water, electricity and food. 2.1 billion people in the world live without drinking water. Also, another problem caused by widespread global effects and increased consumption is that the rate of food possession varies greatly from region to region. Especially with the concept of fast food, the basic eating habits of the last 30 years have increased the consumption of food, mostly causing food waste. This waste is even greater than the amount of food available to people who are in short supply. According to a United Nations report, a total of 931 million tons of food is wasted each year worldwide. Since the need for electricity has increased, it is very difficult to imagine a life without energy, this dependence also generates waste. The damage caused by electricity and technological devices to the natural environment reveals that energy waste is a problem that must be stopped. According to a study by the UK Energy Conservation Foundation, the United Kingdom is the country that wastes the most energy among Western European countries and, according to research carried out in five European countries, Germany is the most energy efficient consumer, followed by Spain, France and Italy. Measures are being taken to avoid wasting water, food and energy in the world. For example, the UN has allocated a fund of 445 billion dollars to take precautions against climate change and pay attention to water use. The EU, for its part, intends to maximize energy savings in the continental sense with its energy policy. However, the fact that societies, and especially young people born in the age of technology, continue to act unconsciously, makes these steps insufficient. Young people need to learn the concepts of waste and savings to gain awareness of responsible consumption. The main objective of our project was to draw attention to the importance of waste and increase awareness of saving. In this context, the general objective of the project was to increase the motivation and competence of young people to combat the waste of water, food and energy, and to raise awareness about saving. The SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES were: 1.- to sensitize young people about the fight against waste. 2.- to sensitize young people about saving to protect food, energy and natural resources. 3.- to teach young people good practices to reduce waste and increase savings. 4.- to sensitize the local population to fight against waste and show them the mistakes they make in daily life.
