Social Innovation through Sport is a youth exchange which took place in Orio (Basque Country, Spain), from October 8 to 17, 2022, including travel days. The main objective of this project was focused on raising awareness about the importance of sport and promoting the inclusion of young people using social innovation. In this way, we promoted participation in sports practices in the different communities where the participants came from and the creation of agents of change for a more inclusive society. Within the main objective, we can also find other more specific ones: - To stimulate the interaction between the 32 participants and youth leaders, providing them space to share experiences, knowledge and learn in a constructive way from each other; - To introduce social innovation to the participants to develop new ideas and create a more inclusive sport and society; - To provide 32 participants with tools from the field of non-formal education and information on ways to promote the sport that can later be used in their own communities; - To create more tolerance and acceptance among participants without judging each person's background and context; - To create five activities/events developed and explained, designed by the participants, to be able to implement in the communities of origin of the participants; -To promote cooperation between the NGOs which collaborated in this project through the creation of common online resources (Instagram, Facebook group) and between the different local entities from which the participants come. Social Innovation through Sport project combined sport with social innovation to provide new tools for young people to promote a more inclusive sport and society, with active, collaborative and real experiences so young people are the ones who encourage change in the organizations of tomorrow, in a more conscious, collaborative and empathetic way. The project is linked to the objectives of the Erasmus+ program involving participants with fewer opportunities. We also promote health, physical activity and the exchange of ideas, culture and knowledge, developing more open and tolerant mentalities with others. Innovation and social entrepreneurship were encouraged to create new ideas that solve social problems and promote inclusion, both in sport and in society in general.
