The focus of this project was to create, energise and promote a discourse against hate and intolerance among adolescents, creating a group of young people who know how to recognise and combat hate speech and rumours that foster racism and intolerance. Creating a group of young people committed to the values of tolerance and inclusion and to fighting discrimination to improve the lives of their communities. We believed it was necessary for young people to be able to grow up in a society free of hatred and mistrust of diversity, especially in these times when anti-minority discourses are on the rise. The objectives we aimed to achieve through this project are the following: + To promote a process of awareness-raising/training/action aimed at young people from the municipality of Erandio and Lisbon who are committed to the values of Interculturality, civic integration and the fight against discrimination, beyond their environment at a European level. + To encourage the involvement of the young people of the municipality in actions in favour of Interculturality, civic integration and the fight against discrimination, beyond their environment at a European level. The programme will use different methodologies to work throughout the programme. To this end, they will be distributed in the following ways: + Experiential experiences. + Participatory activities. + Structured discussion workshops. + Non-formal learning opportunities. + Cultural activities. Both groups of young people who participated in the project shared their concern to participate in a more tolerant and non-prejudiced society, not only in their immediate environment but also at a European level. All this is given by a previous work in their different groups, so this programme tried to satisfy their needs of knowledge of the environment, development of their capacities, participation and social transformation.
