Objectives

This project, "Strengthening Policy: European School of Citizenship," was an initiative aimed at addressing a gap in the awareness among Spanish youth regarding the importance of the European Union (EU) and their civic responsibility in political participation. It also sought to fill a void in the educational curriculum for Spanish students, given that issues related to the EU are scarcely addressed in their educational paths. In this way, the project aimed to create a network of trainers on European matters and establish a European School of Citizenship, equipped with the necessary resources to consolidate this structure and replicate the experience in other contexts. Consequently, it contributed to strengthening the associative fabric focused on European issues, with a mission to organize events where Spanish youth could integrate and participate, developing skills crucial in new multicultural environments. To build this network, we partnered with IUVENTIA, a cooperative with extensive experience in simulations, who will contribute to the training of young people involved in the driving group and coordination team, monitoring workshops, and creating online courses. In light of this, the general objectives of the project were: - To promote greater awareness among Spanish youth, as well as young people in general and the European population at large, about what the EU is, its organization, functions, and specifically, the European Parliament. This was to be achieved through a youth-driven group that has a closer generational connection to the primary and secondary school students being targeted. The specific objectives were: - To stimulate knowledge about the European Union and European democracy among university students, as well as primary and secondary education students, through the Youth Dialogue methodology. - To generate new educational materials on the EU by incorporating diverse media that enhance the learning capacity and communication between the university core and its surrounding environment (videos and educational workshops that can be used by primary and secondary students, thereby increasing their knowledge of the organization and workings of the European Parliament). - To multiply the multiplier effect by establishing agreements to replicate this experience. - To create a team of young pro-European leaders who can train other youth in schools and universities.
