Objectives

The project "Dialogue for Inclusion" has had as its main objective to generate inclusive societies, through dialogue between institutions, entities in the sector and youth at risk of exclusion. This initiative, conceived as a collaborative programme, has been carried out by the El Cerezo de Villena Association, the Valencian Embassy for European Youth Dialogue and a group of young people with fewer opportunities. In the case of this proposal, all the parties involved agree that the possibility of collaborating with other resources provides tools capable of improving the quality of life of the people affected by the work they perform, as well as providing effectiveness to the processes. In this sense, the objective of the collaboration is precisely that joint work optimizes the resources made available and generates stable links with other related entities that ultimately benefit the young people. In turn, this project has fought against social stigmas such as: racism, xenophobia, aporophobia and antigypsyism, especially in youth. A goal that makes sense, if we take into account the increase in hate crimes against these groups. Likewise, the project coordinators have collaborated with associations, groups, projects and entities, made up mostly of young people who work for social inclusion. In this way, the work carried out by these organizations and the important role they play in society have been made visible. With their participation, examples of good practices in the field of inclusion have been shown. In the same way, one of the most important purposes of "Dialogue for Inclusion" is for young people with fewer opportunities to be protagonists throughout the project. With this initiative, this group has been able to participate in decision-making processes and in spaces for youth participation, where they are often underrepresented or excluded. In this sense, the project has allowed young people with few opportunities to learn about examples of inspiring people who, despite coming from disadvantaged backgrounds, have managed to achieve their goals. Finally, we believe it is important to highlight that this activity has been framed within the IX Cycle of European Dialogue with Youth, which focuses on the third Youth Goal, Inclusive Societies. In addition, it has been one of the meetings held in Spain around the European Year of Youth. In conclusion, this project has meant that the young beneficiaries of the inclusion policies themselves are the ones who have contributed their proposals for their design, planning and implementation. To this end, dissemination campaigns and a report have been carried out that has collected measures to achieve a more inclusive society.
