The WAKE UP project aimed to achieve several key objectives related to training, awareness, and inclusion in the context of the metaverse. First, it sought to empower young people to understand and leverage the opportunities of the metaverse while being aware of the risks associated with this emerging digital environment. This included equipping them with essential digital skills, fostering responsible use of immersive technologies, and enhancing their preparedness for a professional and social future in an increasingly digitalized world. Additionally, the project aimed to design and provide innovative and accessible educational resources, such as learning modules and best practices, through an interactive virtual platform that would allow young people to experiment safely and collaboratively. It also aimed to strengthen social inclusion by ensuring that vulnerable groups could access these tools and knowledge. Finally, the project intended to create a lasting impact by establishing international networks, disseminating results, and fostering collaboration among young people, educators, and technology experts.
