We aimed to start international collaboration anew and to build an active network of international contacts with other adult educators. we hoped to host visitors at our center as well as visit other centers throughout Europe. Our objectives also included establishing an operational model for international collaboration and active participating in teacher and student mobilities. Implementing the project the full-time teachers taking part in the project were responsible for also establishing the models for each aspect of the project. The teachers on the mobilities shared their experiences to other teachers and through collegial learning the other teachers on their teams also benefit from their experiences. The most important objective, however, is to increase the social and methodological skills of the teachers. We mainly focused on ICT skills, content and language integrated teaching and social skills.
Vanajaveden Opisto (VOP) is an adult education center. The purpose of VOP is to offer education based on lifelong learning and equality. The education is voluntary, open and accessible to all. VOP offers courses for a fee on many different subjects such as arts and crafts, music, languages, Finnish for foreigners, digital skills, dance and sports. Vanajaveden Opisto also offers integration education and education for reading and writing in collaboration with the TE office. The project VOP Learning in Europe was the first Erasmus+ teacher mobility project in our centre. There are over 200 trained professional teachers working in our center. The teachers taking part were language teachers, integration education teachers and music teachers interested in international cooperation and education.
