Objectives

Main objective of the mobility project was to encourage students and staff to attend different forms of mobility to achieve new perspectives interculturally, educationally, and professionally while also improving their language skills and intercultural abilities. Mobile students gained valuable competences that are needed in the future working life, and staff members were given opportunities to interact with colleagues at the partner institutions and receive new insights to their own work. Erasmus+ program is a key factor in the internationalization agenda of Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) and the mobilities are a valuable part of all the degree programs. We continued evaluating new and suitable partners and increased the number of exchanges in study fields where there was less choice in the past, such as Mechatronics and Fine Arts. Blended Intensive Programs have been welcomed by staff and students as a good option for those not able to take part in the longer exchanges. With a good BIP experience some students also feel confident enough to take part in the semester exchange later. Also SAMK teachers feel that the BIPs can be more easily recognized as part of the degree. SAMK organized two BIP courses with many participants from the partner universities and sent students abroad to gain new experiences with this mode of mobility as well.
