The KA1 Learning Mobility of Individuals project allowed the University of Vaasa to fulfil the commitments listed in its Erasmus Policy Statement: through partnerships with academically established science universities around the world develop excellence in research and education. The commitments and projected achievements of this specific project encompassed 200 mobility activities throughout the project period, a substantial increase after two years of lockdown and stalled international mobility in the higher education sector. This project made the revival of international student and staff mobility possible, while not ignoring the digital leaps taken during the pandemic, and their potential to underpin the university's internationalisation strategy. Through further digital development, guidance and counselling, the university aspired to restore international exchange levels to pre-pandemic heights.
