Active participation in Erasmus mobilities as well as strong involvement in Erasmus collaboration projects create the backbone for Metropolia’s internationalization activities. Erasmus KA131 is a cornerstone and an essential mechanism of our international collaboration and mobility within the European framework. Our goal in this project was to: 1. Provide a strong backbone of mobility options for all our students in order to develop their international and multicultural skills both at home and abroad 2. Support internationalization efforts by our academic units and the development of multicultural skills building into the curriculum in line with Metropolia’s pedagogical guidelines. 3. Provide teachers and staff an opportunity to develop their professional and multicultural skills 4. Support our academic and research units with their partnership development and cooperation. The five key themes in Metropolia’s institutional strategy for 2021-2030 include lifelong learning, phenomenon-based innovation hubs, sustainable development and growth, people and culture, and digitalization. Metropolia has incorporated internationalisation into all these themes through an International Action Plan. The institutional strategy, our International Action Plan, as well as an additional Action Plan for developing Metropolia's activities and incfluence at EU level (Metropolian EU-toiminnan kehittämisen tiekartta) complement the Erasmus+ programme goals extremely well which is also reflected in the Metropolia Erasmus Policy Statement and ECHE. This Erasmus+ KA131 project is one of the core elements.
