The goal of the mobility project was to facilitate internationalization for Laurea’s students and staff through mobilities. In addition, facilitating incoming students and staff and including BIP implementations increases possibilities for Internationalization at Home for the big majority of our students for whom the long mobilities are not possible or they do not have interest to spending a whole semester or academic year abroad. Staff mobilities often aim at planning some joint teaching activities, which in turn can result in better possibilities for the Internationalization at Home activities or short mobilities for students. At Laurea, multicultural skills and international competences are seen as important employability skills, and therefore they are an important part of the curricula. Staff mobilities for training and teaching also enhance both the competences of the staff members and their satisfaction at work. The mobilities help to maintain and manage our wide partner network through exchanging ideas between colleagues and learning from each other, showcasing the skills of mobile students and trainees, and facilitating the BIP courses at Laurea. The staff mobilities have a great potential for increasing the quality of education at Laurea through shared learning of the lecturers.
