Objectives

In this Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) project, Metropolia collaborated with 8 institutions across 4 regions: Chitkara University (India) and IIHS (Sri Lanka) in Asia; NUST (Namibia) in Sub-Saharan Africa; La Trobe University (Australia) in the Pacific; and Kwantlen Polytechnic, MacEwan, Lakehead, and University of Saskatchewan in Canada. The project enabled incoming and outgoing mobilities for students, teachers, and staff. Metropolia aimed to deepen ties with long-term partners and explore newer regions. Key aims included expanding cooperation with India and Namibia, balancing mobility with Canada (especially boosting incoming student flows), and focusing on specific fields with Australia and Sri Lanka. The partnerships in this project provided Metropolia a good mix of well established collaboration and opportunities to expand cooperation into new areas. The partners of this project were selected on the basis of quality of previous collaboration, potential for expansion with new opportunities, and mutual strategic interest. Notably, collaboration broadened to new fields like business and health with Chitkara and NUST, while specialized exchanges with IIHS advanced nursing and emergency care.
