The University of Eastern Finland (UEF) and the partner universities in this project aimed to support and strengthen ongoing international teaching and research collaboration, expand collaboration into new fields, and in some cases to build up new partnerships for fruitful long-term scientific collaboration. UEF and the partners exposed student and staff beneficiaries to different views, knowledge, teaching and pedagogy, research methods and work practices in their scientific field. All the partners have underlined internationality, academic collaboration, and education and research exchange in their strategies, with the aim of boosting reciprocal learning relationships and research. This mobility project has been well aligned to the strategies. Through the mobilities, knowledge and skills of students, researchers and staff are improved, pedagogic knowledge and methods are shared and new forms of collaboration and knowledge co-created and co-developed. Mobilities offer an internationalization experience to students and staff members, enhance tolerance and promote understanding of different cultures. Further, all international mobilities improve the visibility of the partner universities.
