We wanted our students and teachers to see how similar we are as a nation even though we come from different cultures and backrounds. We wanted to teach each other about litterature, art and music that are meaningful to our culture and makes us a nation. For example, Kalevala, which is a Finnish national epic. Learning languages with positive attitude was also important objective to achieve. We also wanted to improve our digital skills, for example, by working with Google, social networks etc.
Because of Covid, our previous project remained unfinished and Alavuden yläkoulu did not have an opportunity to visit College Notre Dame Agde. We wanted to apply for this project, The roots of our nations united in our culture because we wanted to visit Agde and learn more about our cultures and where they come from. We also wanted that the students can learn each other better and give the teachers a chance to get acquainted with the French education system.
