The project aimed to create a new generation of European Green and Sustainable Food Educators who can promote sustainable food choices and reduce food waste across Europe. It sought to equip VET and hospitality educators with the skills and tools needed to teach sustainability, circular‑economy principles and responsible consumption. The project also aimed to align VET with evolving labour‑market needs by strengthening green skills and preparing learners for careers shaped by the green transition. Another goal was to collect evidence and good practices from across Europe to support high‑quality teaching on sustainable food systems. The project developed multilingual Open Educational Resources to ensure long‑term, inclusive access to learning materials. It also aimed to formally recognise educators’ new skills through Europass Mobility and micro‑credentials. Finally, the project worked to build a lasting European network that will continue advancing sustainable food education beyond the project’s duration.
The project developed the new profile of the European Green and Sustainable Food Educator to strengthen sustainability education and reduce food waste across Europe. It combined research, international training, and the creation of multilingual Open Educational Resources to support educators in promoting responsible food consumption, circular‑economy practices and greener lifestyles. Through three training events, digital modules, micro‑credentials and a comprehensive educational toolkit, the project equipped VET teachers and community educators with practical skills and tools. National seminars, webinars and wide dissemination ensured that the results reached diverse audiences and encouraged long‑term awareness and engagement in sustainable food practices.
