Objectives

The project aimed to meet two specific objectives: SO1. Strengthen members' skills to provide better training in communication for development (C4D). This objective responds to an imminent need to renew C4D training. To achieve this, members' skills need to be strengthened so that they can offer increasingly high-quality training. SO2: Draw lessons learned from C4D projects carried out by European organisations The aim of this objective is to demonstrate the added value of the C4D approach. To do this, it is necessary to capitalise, i‧e. "draw lessons learned" from C4D projects carried out by other organisations in Europe. This project will be an opportunity for us to learn from our peers and to improve our project engineering skills.

Background

Com4Dev aims to promote Communication for Development (C4D), defined as "a social process based on dialogue and using a wide range of tools and methods. The aim is to seek to bring about change at different levels, such as listening, building trust, sharing knowledge and skills, implementing policies, debating and learning about significant and sustainable change." (World Congress on C4D in Rome in 2006). The association faces 2 major challenges: 1: demonstrating the added value of C4D in achieving its objectives. Our aim here is to convince development players of its effectiveness for project beneficiaries and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and to update our own strategy by revisiting our theory of change in the light of lessons learned from other organisations. 2: Renew our C4D training. We need to build our capacity to improve the quality of our training. We also want to make them more accessible (particularly through distance learning) and improve our responses to the needs of solidarity organisations, in conjunction with other organisations in Europe.
