We have noticed that teenagers were exposed to a huge number of information through social medias, which they check, for most of them, regularly. Therefore, our first objective was for our students to realise that information are treated differently from one country to another, by enabling them to investigate 'directly on the field', in Italy and Finland. We wanted our students to question the reasons why there were differences on how information was treated in each country, and compare and draw conclusions from these information in order to modify or adapt their use of social media. We have raised awareness among our students regarding crucial issues of the European Union, of the way information was treated in the media and on the definition of a European citizen. We initially had an objective we unfortunately couldn't achieve: when we started the project, we wanted to include a third mobility to Lituania, but the context of the war between Russia and Ukraine and the fact we didn't find a school partner there, forced us to cancel this last mobility. We felt we couldn't properly respect the quality standards of Erasmus, as we wanted the students to be welcomed in hosting families and feel safe.
Our school is a general and technological highschool, welcoming around 17000 students in various learning programs: a general one (with classes of seconde, première et terminale) and a technological one (BTS, STMG, STI2S). We welcome students from different social classes and different cities, which are sometimes far away. We are involved into an international and European policy, which is part of our school project. We also have acquired the EUROSCOL label and we have 4 Foreign Languages (LVC: Chinese, Russian, Italian and Spanish), with two DNL sections (SELO: English and Italian). We also welcome regularly Language assistants and we have different exchanges (mobility) with: Italy, Sweden and Germany.
