Our objectives were to make our students aware of eco-citizenship, ie to work on the importance of the relationship between people and their natural environment in order to develop good practices in terms of environmental impact. In addition, we wanted to develop civic awareness at European level. If individuals are often less aware of their differences, they often forget their proximity in terms of values, lifestyles and the importance of the European project in bringing people together. Finally, the objective was also to work on the cultural aspect by working on the living environment, the history of each country and city. Family accommodation was thus a very concrete and useful way of becoming aware of all these elements, beyond the organized program of visits.
As part of the development and pedagogical practices of our European section, our project is part of a linguistic and cultural approach. In addition, the environmental approach and the work on historical and geographical links served as educational support as a citizen. Our project is based on an exchange with a school in Amsterdam, at the heart of our school's policy of international openness for many years. In addition, the tradition of welcoming Dutch correspondents also contributes to this internally, for the other students as well as for the staff.
