The objective of our initial project was to offer our students the opportunity to spend time abroad, develop their linguistic skills and improve their self-esteem while doing their compulsory 4-week internship with a foreign company or administration. Our motivation was also to strengthen the already-existing bonds between our school and our longstanding partners: La Escuela Comarcal Arzobispo Morcillo in Valdemoro (Spain) and Oswald-von-Nell-Breuning-Berufskolleg in Coesfeld (Germany). In compliance with the terms and objectives of our project (D.ES.I.RE) and thanks to the available funding and our partners’ help, 26 mobility internships were planned – 21 in Spain and 5 in Germany.
Our 2022 project “Dynamisme et ESpoir avec l’International pour la REussite des élèves” (D.ES.I.RE) was awarded a grant of 51.442€ to plan mobility internships in 2023 and 2024 as part of our 18-month project, in keeping with our school’s plan initiated in 2016. Lycée Gustave Flaubert is a state school where a majority of underprivileged students go. In our views, mobility internships and student involvement in partnerships with European countries can help decrease academic disengagement and encourage them pursue higher education.
