Objectives

This project was developed in light of the characteristics of our school and the needs we had identified. Mobility was considered as a tool that would provide relevant responses to help us combat economic, social and cultural determinism, boost educational ambition and fight against early school leaving. Through its cultural, professional and personal openness, international mobility should give participants the opportunity to develop their linguistic, technical and professional skills, as well as their soft skills. For the learners, the aim of the mobility was to develop their involvement in the training and encourage their adaptability to generate greater employability. For staff, the mobility was intended to meet a need for adaptability to changes in their profession as part of ongoing training. More generally, the project was intended to better prepare participants to play an active role as European citizens aware of the many challenges they face in education, training, sustainable development, inclusion and the use of digital tools.

Background

Lycée Clément de Pémille is a public secondary vocational high school located in the department of Tarn (81), in Graulhet, a town classified as a rural zone undergoing a revitalization programme and close to a neighbourhood under the priority urban policy scheme. It is part of a center organising inclusive education support and comprises : _ a department which monitors young people with disabilities or special needs and coordinates their support by special carers. _ a school disengagement and dropout prevention group _a local department fighting against school dropout This project is the 3rd part of project GROOVE (GRaulhet: Opportunities and Opening Towards Employability) launched in 2018. It offers short-term outgoing mobility to 280 learners, mostly minors, enrolled in 3 different courses (CAP, BAC PRO and Brevet des Métiers d'Arts (BMA)) from 3 training fields (selling, mechanics, jewellery), as well as to 74 staff. It does not involve apprentices or undergraduates, the latter benefiting from the mobility programme of the consortium attached to Lycée Joséphine Baker in Toulouse.
