Christian Bourquin high school is home to the Tourism HND, Hospitality updating class, Hospitality and Culinary HND (initial training and sandwich courses) and Sommelier, catering and campsite reception trainings with around 150 students per year. The International Relations team consists of: 2 International Mobility coordinators for general education, including the ERAEI (Enseignant Référent pour l'Action Européenne et Internationale) (Lead Teacher for European and International Action) 2 International Mobility coordinators for higher education (1 BTS TOURISME and 1 BTS MHR) 2 Vocational and Technological Education Mobility coordinators THE OBJECTIVES OF OUR PROJECT Bourquin high school 's objectives in terms of international mobility for its students and staff remain ambitious and progressive. STUDENTS The main objective is to enable as many students as possible to experience mobility abroad during their HND, to promote study mobility, with a minimum of two students per year, and to gradually increase the number of work experience placements. In addition, the number of young people with fewer opportunities (JAMO) is a priority for the school and bonus points are awarded to them in the ranking of applications. The aim for the students is, of course, to enhance their linguistic and professional skills, but also their interpersonal skills. Students gain in autonomy, flexibility and adaptability. Finally, the longer-term objective is to facilitate their integration into the world of work, make it easier to recruit them and develop their sense of belonging to Europe. STAFF The aim is to encourage all staff to discover the benefits of international mobility in order to open up to other cultures and other education systems, to improve individual and collective teaching practices and to make every member of staff an ambassador for mobility among our young people. Staff are the first advisers and prescribers for pupils and students. They are also responsible for informing and reassuring parents, who may be worried about seeing their young people go abroad for 2 to 4 months. Staff mobility also represents an opportunity to strengthen relations with our loyal partners, training centres and host companies. PARTNER ORGANISATIONS We can count on the active support of our partners in France, in particular: Europe Direct Pyrénées, PSI (Plateforme de Solidarité Internationale) and the DRAREIC of the Montpellier Academy. For placements abroad, we rely on a network of around a hundred partner companies in 21 countries (the number of destinations is constantly increasing) on 4 continents. Around twelve partner training organisations abroad help us to place and monitor our students on work placements and for study mobility. The establishment in 2018 of a network of Gastronomy, Hospitality and Tourism (GHT) high schools in the Montpellier Academy, through the Campus des Métiers et des Qualifications d'Excellence GHT Occitanie, enables us to broaden the range of our foreign partners, training organisations and host companies for work placements each year. We place a great deal of emphasis on building customer loyalty and developing long-term partnerships, with a focus on quality and working in a climate of trust. These strong partnerships are now enabling us to develop new European mobility activities in vocational, technological and general education, both in terms of outgoing and incoming mobility (Bac Pro work placements, job-shadowing periods for foreign staff, future strategic partnership projects, etc.).
