Objectives

Formasup Méditerranée and its partners have initiated the FAME consortium to promote international mobility for higher education apprentices, ensuring equal opportunities between students and apprentices. The KA 131 project aims to reconcile international experience with apprenticeship. It meets the requirements of the Commission des Titres d'Ingénieur, which mandates a two-month mobility period for obtaining the degree, and supports its integration into work-study programs. Until December 26 2023, the law suspended apprentices' contracts and salaries for mobilities longer than four weeks. The FAME consortium, through Formasup Méditerranée and the National Association for Apprenticeship in Higher Education, raised these issues with the relevant authorities. The law of December 27 2023, now allows companies to sign placement agreements for long-term mobilities without interrupting salaries. The consortium aims to enable 80% of engineering apprentices to benefit from international experience by 2027 and to extend these opportunities to students in University Technology Diplomas (BUT), professional bachelor's degrees, and master's programs to enhance the internationalization of educational pathways.
