Our wish was to set up an international impulse for our higher education classes. As an island and considering our students’ predicament we have specificities. Our students are very few to have ever travelled abroad. Their families themselves are reluctant to let their children go away and bringing them to this alternative is a real challenge. Our students lack independence and a window on the world. They are geographically far from Europe and yet they are Europeans. It’s a concern for us to develop this sense of belonging to Europe through sharing experiences with other Europeans. Considering the school staff our goals where to train them and have exchange about teaching tools and practices but also about other fields of education such as mainstreaming disability, digital technology tools or classes management. These mobilities also represent opportunities for our staff to manage, exchange, evolve and improve their teaching skills. Another objective was to transmit to the school community these international experiences through the organization of sharing actions implemented by both students and teachers such as workshops, conferences, mentoring or cultural stands.
