Objectives

We have designed a training program intending to reach the following objectives : • contribute to disseminate and apprehend state-of-the-art knowledge- based information and research so as to transfer them over to the spectrum of activities implemented in the sector • establish a framework that facilitates discussions and reflection due to help professionals to understand the standards and indicators of environmental responsibility that apply to their work and undertake corresponding relevant action • support the actions of professionals willing or already committed to implementing environmentally responsible practices, by providing them access to a range of methodological and technical content and practical tools • build up conditions to encourage peer-to-peer contact and facilitate collaboration among professionals and therefore foster the production of shared knowledge for the whole popular music sector • promote a participatory approach by involving and engage with the public, to gather input and incorporate public perspectives into approaches and measures that ensure industry practices remain acceptable for the audiences.

Background

Both networks value solidarity and the general interest, as they recognize and support the various artistic and cultural projects within the sector. They understand that social trends and issues play a significant role in shaping this sector. To adapt to the evolving landscape, it is important for the networks to consider the emerging concerns of their members and the expectations of diverse audiences they aim to attract. The Popular Music sector has recently taken a commitment to address the ecological and digital transition. This commitment is reflected in a range of experiments and initiatives on both sides of the Franco-Belgian border. These concerns are deeply embedded in the goals pursued by both umbrella entities. The LITMUS project, in particular, introduces a new area of collaborative action that was previously undervalued: the formal lifelong training of individuals involved in or aspiring to acquire professional positions in the popular music sector.
