In implementing this project, we wanted to : - Contribute to gender equality from an innovative angle : promoting co-parenting among fathers and civil society. - Mobilise and raise the awareness of a network of players (from the labour world , education and family services) at local and transnational level able to design and implement new practices and methods to bring about transformation and change in the field of gender equality.
Our four organisations promote gender equality among their members and beneficiaries through advocacy, awareness-raising, publications, training and dedicated working groups. Through this project, we needed to question our practices, share our experiences and imagine together the means necessary for this issue to attract the more concrete commitment of men in this fight. Indeed, the issue of gender equality is often approached from a perspective of emancipation, catching up or combating inequality and violence against women (equal pay, reconciling family and work, unemployment and part-time work, poverty, unemployment, etc.) and as a result, although men are supporters, they still invest too little in these issues. The aim of the PROCOPA project was therefore to identify the obstacles and driving forces, and to devise ways of mobilising men more effectively. We therefore chose to approach this issue from a different and positive angle - that of fathers' involvement in co-responsibility for the family.
